About COLT

In December 2012, Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) established the Center for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) to assist faculty members design and implement blended (hybrid) and online courses in accordance with the University's vision of providing access to quality and affordable higher education to learners both on and off campus.

COLT helps faculty design and implement hybrid and online courses identified as priorities by Faculty Deans and Heads of Departments. The center also collaborates with campus units to ensure students and faculty have technology training and related resources. Independent study, and other professional development courses, that require significant use of Internet and Web technologies, are also being coordinated by COLT.

COLT's offices are located on the ground floor of the B-block at GTUC's main campus in Accra (Tesano). In due course, the centre will have presence in some of the GTUC satellite campuses, notably Kumasi and Takoradi.

The centre has a staff strength of four (4), and is presently headed by Dr. Ebenezer Malcalm, who has extensive experience in distance learning, online course development and program assessment.
